For more than 35 years, Malone and Moloney Construction has flourished by following a straightforward mission: building customers their dream homes. Partners Eamon Malone and John Moloney, Sr., first began building homes in Palos Hills, Illinois, in 1969, shortly after each moved to the United States from Ireland. Their Irish roots gave both a strong set of Old World values that have translated into unrivaled customer service and a commitment to excellence throughout the home building process. In 1996, after building neighborhoods in Homer Glen and Orland Park, they began co-building Brookside Glen in Tinley Park, which proved to be the most successful community in the southwest suburbs. The neighborhood combined quality homes in a great location—a natural setting with all the amenities today’s families expect, from restaurants and retail to great schools to parks and recreation areas. Now with Brookside Glen South, they continue the tradition of the smashing success of Brookside Glen. There are many reasons they chose to build in the same area: Chicago water, two train stations, and access to I-80 and I-57, just to name a few. Both of their sons, Kevin Malone and John Moloney, Jr., are now helping them carry on the tradition of superior craftsmanship and customer service: Kevin Malone and John Moloney, Jr., are both an integral part of the Malone and Moloney team. Kevin Malone started learning his dad’s trade at age eight, when he began hauling lumber for his dad. Kevin’s experience in the business has taught him about every aspect of building a home. “A lot of work goes into getting the houses started,” he says. He does everything from obtaining the proper permits to overseeing the pouring of the concrete to completing the drywall. Kevin also works closely with each customer before construction begins. “No two homes are alike, Kevin says. “We try to work with buyers as closely as possibly to ensure they are getting the homes of their dreams.” John Moloney, Jr., worked in construction on his own and with his uncle before joining his father a decade ago. His favorite part of the job is working with the customers and finishing the house. John also enjoys the variety of work he does. “In this day and age, customers are looking to customize their homes, and there are lots of changes to the models and in the work. It’s great because I’m always looking at something different.” Malone and Moloney take pride in the homes they build and the number of standard and optional features they offer. Close to 2,000 homebuyers have chosen Malone and Moloney Construction to build one of the most important investments in their lives. The care and dedication they’ve shown their customers has resulted in many repeat buyers and referrals. In fact, some customers who bought homes in the original Brookside Glen are building new homes at Brookside Glen South.
